Why I Chose Clean Eating and Food as Medicine(And How It Changed Everything)

"CleanVitals Co LLC | Clean Living Series"

There was a time when I didn't think much about labels.

I trusted that if something was on the shelf, it must be fine. Like most people, I was focused on convenience, not ingredients.

But over time, my body started telling a different story.

What I was experiencing:

  • Fatigue that didn't make sense
  • Bloating that came and went
  • Inflammation
  • Brain fog
  • Low energy
  • Feeling "off" without a clear reason

Like many people, I kept pushing through. Until I couldn't ignore it anymore.

The Turning Point

After more than 25 years working in nursing, I understood health from a clinical perspective — but experiencing changes in my own body forced me to understand it on a personal level.

I began doing something simple but powerful: I started paying attention.

I tracked how I felt. I reviewed my labs. I looked at patterns instead of guessing.

And everything kept pointing back to one place: food and daily ingredients.

Not as a restriction — but as information. That shift changed everything for me.

Going Back to Basics

I didn't start with a strict diet or extreme plan. I started with awareness.

I slowly began choosing foods with simpler ingredient lists:

  • No seed oils
  • No artificial flavors
  • No unnecessary additives
  • Gluten-free and dairy-free choices that supported my body
  • Whole foods I could actually recognize

I didn't remove joy from food — I rebuilt it. I learned how to create meals that were still delicious, satisfying, and deeply nourishing without the confusion.

Food as Medicine (What I Actually Learned)

One of the biggest mindset shifts I had was realizing this:

"Food is not just fuel. Food is information for the body."

Some foods support clarity, energy, and balance. Others can contribute to inflammation, fatigue, and discomfort — especially when consumed consistently over time.

Once I understood that, I stopped eating on autopilot. I started reading labels like they mattered — because they do.

And slowly, I began to feel a difference:

More energy
Less brain fog
Improved digestion
Better overall balance

It wasn't instant. It wasn't perfect. But it was real.

What I Became Obsessed With (In a Good Way)

I'll be honest — I became obsessed with something I never expected: reading ingredient labels.

Not in a restrictive way — but in an empowering way. I started looking for clean, recognizable ingredients, better-for-you alternatives, simple plant-based options, and everyday products that support wellness, not overwhelm it.

That curiosity turned into a lifestyle. And eventually, it turned into a mission.

Why CleanVitals Co Exists

CleanVitals Co was created from that personal journey. This brand is built on a simple belief:

"When you simplify what you consume, you change how you feel."

We focus on clean living through:

  • Food as medicine education
  • Simple ingredient awareness
  • Clean wellness and home essentials
  • Plant-based and allergen-conscious finds
  • Everyday tools for better living

Not perfection. Not extremes. Just better choices made consistently.

A Real-Life Approach to Wellness

CleanVitals Co is not about doing everything perfectly. It's about making wellness feel realistic in everyday life.

You don't have to be vegan.

You don't have to follow a strict diet.

You don't have to be overwhelmed.

You just start where you are — with awareness.

One label at a time.

One choice at a time.

One shift at a time.

Founder's Note

After 25 years as a nurse, I began to see health differently — not just through treatment, but through prevention, awareness, and daily habits.

In my own life, I experienced what many people go through: fatigue, inflammation, bloating, brain fog, and changes in energy that made me slow down and reassess everything.

That's when I returned to the basics — nature, whole foods, and clean eating for deeper healing. I started reading labels differently. I became intentional about ingredients. I focused on simple, clean foods that supported my body instead of stressing it.

That shift changed everything. Now I'm deeply passionate about clean ingredients, plant-based nutrition, and discovering how powerful food can be when it's simple and intentional.
